Keith MacLelland is:
an artist and educator who creates contemporary coastal illustrations for the gallery, interior decorating and gift industries. He’s the Department Chair of Illustration and an Associate Professor at Lesley Art + Design. His work has received kudos from 3x3, American Illustration, Applied Arts, Creative Quarterly, HOW Design and the Society of Illustrators. He's exhibited throughout the United States in cities such as NY, LA, and Boston, and has been published in the US, Australia, France and Germany.
His Boston and Cape Cod based mixed media studio practice is eco-conscious. With a palette that is dominated by saturated colors that echo the brightly painted buoys that bob atop the ebb and flow of ocean waves, he constructs his work from discarded ephemera: cereal boxes, flooring remnants, and leftover gift wrap.
When Keith’s not making or teaching, you can find him living a happy life in Wellfleet, MA with his wife and step-daughter, three cats and one dog, Buoy, shucking fresh picked oysters, or beachcombing the dunes of Cape Cod’s National Seashore.
